Become lost in the wonderland that is Bentley’s showroom, as Todd and Sherry explain the inspiration behind it.
Say hello to Libby Cook, Bentley’s Director of Product Development Operations, otherwise known as our Trendcaster. With a textile design education and background, Libby worked for various West Coast interiors and garment fabric companies for a few years before transitioning to the carpet industry in the late 1980s.
Runway trends influence all aspects of life – from the clothes we wear and the accessories we choose, to how we design our homes and outfit our workspaces. Carpet style is no exception. At Bentley, we’ve long subscribed to the mantra that carpet is fashion for the floor. It’s no longer solely utilitarian. Sure, it needs to perform. But it also needs to inspire. Take a peek at a few trends that are defining the world of fashion – and guiding some of the latest designs in contract carpet.
Color is more powerful than most of us give it credit for. It can inspire and move you (literally and mentally); elicit emotion and even give you a pop of productivity. But the perception that bold, vibrant colors aren’t chic and classy is as much a myth as the idea that neutrals are dull and boring. Quite the opposite – and the trends we’re seeing in muted shades and tone-on-tones are proof.
When Bentley Mills started writing its story more than 35 years ago, of course, no one knew exactly what the chapters would share, the twists and turns we would navigate, the peaks and valleys we would explore. But here we are today: California born and raised, the largest carpet manufacturer in the state and proudly producing quality, luxe products out of our LEED®-EBOM Gold certified facility. The same facility we’ve occupied since 1979.
